Hydroponic farming is a knowledge-based technology of cultivating plants in nutrient solution without soil. Though the basics of hydroponic technology remain the same, yet its application in farming in the form of hydroponic vertical farming, aeroponic, aquaculture as well as run to waste type greenhouse cultivation require an end to end training on a state-of-the-art hydroponic farming system. Training and/or consultancy may be essentially required if one opts for commercial or industrial hydroponic farming. The importance of training in hydroponics lies not only in building one’s capacity in adopting the latest hydroponic techniques but also in avoiding the pit falls in way of successful operationalization of hydroponic farming. Installation of a Plant factory for commercial/ industrial hydroponic farming involves expertise from bioengineering and other allied fields, hence need for consultancy always arises for establishment of a successful plant factory or even a simple controlled environment horticulture production system as per the given situation.
